Tiny Kinmundy IL is not far from several campgrounds like Stephen A Forbes SRA.

Volunteers have saved many log cabins in southern IL and created a wonderful little village of them. It’s an interesting story that the volunteers will proudly share with you.

In September, they hold a sweet homegrown festival that helps support restoration of cabins (they are just waiting on funding to restore and put them back up).

Make time this year to enjoy this festival and the lake.

So, gather your camping friends, bring your Dutch ovens and create memories the old fashioned way.
