It’s already two trips back, but before I forget, I wanted to share this seasoning salt we found on our latest Kentucky caves trip . We made long forays into rural areas on that trip …traveling through lots of Amish country. We stopped for lunch one day at an Amish sandwich and bakery shop. This is where I found the salt.
I usually make my own lemon, garlic, sea salt blend but this is a very, very good second. Before each camping trip I make a big veggie frittata to reheat each morning and this seasoned salt is a welcomed addition. The cap has overly generous holes so, if you buy one—use caution on the shake.
I found it on Amazon (here in case you aren’t near an Amish shop on one of your trips): https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Amish+seasoning+salt&crid=33IHFDRWZLYB9&sprefix=amish+seasoning+sal%2Caps%2C1417&ref=nb_sb_noss_2
So, my birthday is the end of the month and it’s usually too hot to go camping but I was given a crazy good restaurant suggestion and there is an historic orchard that grows acres of u-pick flowers in July. We went there one July birthday with the dogs but I could only bring a few sunflowers home because it was a long drive for fresh flowers in water (from So Il to StL).
I’m thinking of doing a short trip in the camper so I can fill it with flowers for my birthday. There is a lovely potter nearby, a giant cross, some very interesting hiking, a dog friendly eatery/winery and that “worth the trip” newly advised eatery a little further south. The flowers won’t last the trip home but maybe I can give them away to other campers before we go.
Hmmm…should I write it up this trip idea before we go or after??
