A couple years old now, our little automatic camera is still a favorite thing. In the eighties we had the big pre-digital SLR and a bag of big expensive lenses and have shifted to smaller and smaller and better and better point and shoot cameras every few years. When we bought this Panasonic Luminix (http://www.n1wireless.com/panasonic-lumix-dmc-zs40-digital-camera-black-with-16gb-sd-card.html?fee=4&fep=2928&gclid=CPrVt5XT7M8CFQsbaQodsYMEeQ), […]
There are little towns all across America that boast a claim to fame or historic event that puts them on the map of worthy visits. Some lucky towns have tireless and generous citizens who work to preserve the history through murals, museums, oddities and public sculptures. Benton Il is just such a town. Downtown, the […]
This post is a bit of departure from my travel and Egg stories so I hope you will bear with me. Yesterday, I went to our tiny local post office and there being a que, I waited outside in the little vestibule. The woman ahead of me, motioned me in, saying we’d move the line […]
One of the most important things we can do for each other is to inspire creativity. I hope that my work decorating our Casita and crafting fun Casita-esque projects inspires some of you to play around with art and practicality to manifest wonderful new things in your (camping) lives, too. It’s Fall. The heat of the nineties has finally broken and given way to temperatures twenty degrees cooler. Ahhh…. Fall and early Winter are my favorite camping and touring seasons. The fires aren’t wasted in sweltering heat, the crowds are gone, the trees are closing up season while crickets and katydids sing away the last […]
These are the hooks we currently use to hang things on the carpeted walls (just be careful to only hang super lightweight objects on the carpeting –you don’t want the carpet to pull away from the walls):But I’m always looking for new ways to hang lightweight objects on the carpet or fiberglass and I’m perpetually on […]
Well if you’ve been reading along to this point, you know we like things “pretty”, frugal, practical, natural, dog-friendly and tasty-good food. The trick is how to pack a small space to be prepared to do the all things you love at a moment’s notice–and not bring so much you can’t easily see and stow […]
Seems like everyday now I see notice of another stolen trailer on Facebook. Given the high re-sale value of the Egg category and the current super popularity of campers, our Eggs are all more appealing to thieves. What’s to be done?? Well, as one who has had more than her share of home break-ins, car […]
